Cookie notice
About this notice
This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies used on the Deep Understanding website. It sits alongside our Privacy notice, which explains how we handle personal data more broadly.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner.
We treat similar technologies, such as local storage and pixel tags, the same way as cookies in this notice.
What we use
This site includes Google Tag Manager (GTM). GTM is a container that can load other tags, for example analytics or marketing tags, depending on how it is configured.
With your permission, we use analytics to understand aggregate visits and CTA clicks so we can improve the site. We do not use analytics for advertising or selling data.
- Google Analytics, loaded through GTM to understand aggregate page visits and CTA clicks. These tags may set cookies or use similar technologies.
The exact tags loaded by GTM may change over time. If we add new analytics or marketing tags, this notice will be updated and, where required, appropriate consent controls will be put in place.
Types of cookies
- Strictly necessary cookies are required for the website to function (for example, basic page loading, security). Under UK law, these do not need your consent.
- Analytics cookies help us understand how the site is used. Under UK law (PECR and the UK GDPR), these require your consent before they are set, unless they meet the limited "strictly necessary" exemption.
- Marketing cookies would track visitors across sites to build a profile or target advertising. We do not currently use marketing cookies. If we ever introduce them, we will update this notice and ask for your consent first.
Managing cookies
You can manage cookies in your browser. Most browsers allow you to:
- See what cookies are stored on your device.
- Block all cookies, or just third-party cookies.
- Delete cookies when you close the browser.
- Be warned before a cookie is set.
Instructions vary by browser. The "Cookies" or "Privacy" section of your browser's settings is the usual starting point. Blocking cookies may affect how some parts of the site work.
Updates to this notice
If new tags or cookies are added through GTM, this notice will be updated to reflect them. For wider information about how we handle personal data, please see our Privacy notice.
